Historically, the Maha Darwaja was closed at sunset.

    Visiting the Shri Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj       Memorial at Raigad is considered a significant and       memorable experience, according to user reviews. It is open daily from 6 AM to 6 PM, and there is no entry fee or need for advance booking of tickets. The memorial is also described as being good for children. However, the entrance is not easily accessible for wheelchair users.
